"All-American Muslim" garners strong ratings, mixed opinions from first episode

DEARBORN — More than 1.7 million viewers tuned in on Sunday night to watch TLC’s premiere of "All-American Muslim," a reality show that follows five families from the city and chronicles their daily lives and viewpoints on practicing what is most likely the most misunderstood religion in the country.

A new cookbook titled, Sitto's Kitchen: A Treasury of Syrian Family Recipes Taught from Mother to Daughter for Over 100 Years features century old Syrian recipes. It includes original recipes from the author's grandmother along with contemporary cooking tips and memories associated with each dish.
Film offering positive portrayal of Arabs and Islam premiers in Dearborn

DEARBORN — The film ‘Day of the Falcon’ is set to premiere at the AMC Fairlane Theater here on Mar. 1. The film stars Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Mark Strong and Tahar Rahim and is directed by award-winning director Jean-Jacques Annaud. Day of the Falcon is an epic adventure film with global appeal that offers a positive portrayal of the Arab culture, landscape and Islam.
