TLC announced this week that the Dearborn based reality show "All-American Muslim" will no be picked up for a second season. The show, which ran for 8 episodes starting last November became a subject of controversy when retail giant Lowes decided to pull its ads from the show after receiving complaints from a conservative group in Florida.

Despite the controversy, the show failed to retain any of it's audience after premiering strongly with 1.7 million viewers. By the end of it's run, the show had only averaged 900,000 viewers per episode.

The show still received critical acclaim for being able to reflect the average lives of Muslims in the U.S. "Our show helped to pave the way for the moderate Muslim voice to be heard in this nation," Suehaila Amen, one of the stars featured on the show, told the Detroit Free Press.
