Dearborn professional receives national humanitarian award

The American Cancer Society announced that Dr. Adnan Hammad, Senior Director of the Community Health and Research Center and Chairman of the National and International Research Initiative at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) has been named recipient of the annual St. George National Award. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding volunteers who have demonstrated ongoing leadership in community mission delivery or governance, and have significantly contributed to furthering the American Cancer Society's strategic goals and mission-driven programs. As one of Michigan's most respected public health professionals, Dr. Hammad occupies an important niche in the state's health care community.  The beneficiaries of Dr. Hammad's work extend well beyond the boundaries served by the Community Health facilities in metro-Detroit and reach far around the globe in every Arab nation.
