Upcoming St. Sharbel Church Festival to benefit child abuse victims
Friday, 08.17.2012, 01:06am
WARREN — A three-day festival will offer a rich sampling of Lebanese traditions including authentic Lebanese food made from the finest Michigan produce and ingredients.    The festival features entertainment by popular American and Lebanese performers and disc jockeys providing an energetic venue for music and dance. Visitors will also enjoy fun-filled family activities including face painting, caricatures, moonwalks and bouncy houses, performances by local Dabkeh Dance Troupes, a volleyball tournament, Euchre tournament, and a cash prize raffle.

For the first time in festival history, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization, Childhelp Michigan. Childhelp Michigan ensures that the abused, neglected and at-risk children throughout southeast Michigan continue to have the safety and protection they need in order to live the happy and healthy lives they deserve. On Sunday at 12:15 p.m., the Church will join Childhelp for its signature Balloon Ceremony. Hundreds of balloons will be launched, each carrying an inspirational, heartfelt message.  The festival is from 5 - 11 p.m. on Friday, September 7; noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 8; and noon to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, at St.Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church (31601 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI).  For more information call (586) 826-9688
