NEW YORK- On Monday, a 19-year-old student at Baruch College allegedly entered Trump Tower with a knife, fireworks and a garrote in his backpack, and is now facing charges.
Alexander Wang was detained and charged with illegal possession of a weapon and fireworks.
Once the teen entered the building at 6:35 p.m. yesterday, his backpack set off a metal detector.
Secret Service officials found an eight-foot rope, handcuffs, a Swiss Army knife, a knife with a six-inch blade, a firework, a water gun, a garrote and other items.
According to a police spokesman, Wang’s father told police his son has autism, supports Trump and likes Trump Tower.
The spokesman said police are investigating why he had the weapons.
He said Wang has not yet entered a plea.
