DEARBORN HEIGHTS— On Wednesday, Dearborn Heights resident Gregory Green pleaded guilty to four counts of second degree murder in a hearing before 20th District Court Judge David D. Turfe.
Green, 50, admitted to killing his daughters, Koi Green, 5, and Kaleigh Green, 4, as well as his stepchildren, Chadney Allen, 19, and Kara Allen, 17, in September.
He has to serve two years in prison for his use of a weapon during a felony. A sentence agreement also calls for 47 to 102 years in prison for the four murders.
Green will be sentenced in Wayne County Circuit Court on March 1.
"The plea was given with the express approval of Faith Green, the mother of the children, and the father of the two Allen children," the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office stated in a news release.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Green said he shot his two stepchildren in front of their mother and used carbon monoxide to poison his two daughters in the car.
He also admitted that he shot Faith Harris-Green, his ex-wife, in the feet and used a sharp object to slash her face.
Green's attorney, Charles Longstreet II, said Green accepted the plea because he felt remorseful.
“He wanted to get it over with,” Longstreet said.
Green will be 97 years old when he becomes eligible for parole. He also pleaded guilty to a count of torture determined to do bodily harm.
In 1991, Green killed his seven-months pregnant
wife, Tonya Green. According to court records, he stabbed her 10 times with a
steak knife. He was released in 2008, after having been denied parole two times
each in 2004 and 2006.
